The expansion of Mia's Table into Houston's suburbs will continue in 2020.

Johnny Carrabba has already opened two satellite locations of his fast casual comfort food restaurant in Shenandoah and Webster, but they'll soon have another sibling in Cypress. Mia's Table will be one of two anchor tenants at Braun Enterprises' new retail development at the intersection of Hwy 290 and Fry Road; the restaurant will occupy approximately 5,400 square feet, with a 1,000-square-foot patio.

"Johnny is a personal friend and someone I’ve always admired," Braun Enterprises owner Dan Braun tells CultureMap in an email. "As we’ve grown our business, I’ve looked to Johnny as an inspiration for how to create a business culture built around community, teamwork, and quality. It’s a privilege to have Mia’s as part of our development, and I’m certain that the Cypress community will embrace Mia’s, and Johnny and his team will undoubtedly build something special."

Known for its family-friendly atmosphere and a menu built around comfort food staples like burgers, fried seafood, salads, and more, Mia's has been a hit for Carrabba since it opened in 2012. In addition to the new location in Cypress, the restaurant will also join Kirby Ice House and Torchy's Tacos as part of Memorial City Mall's expansion to the north side of I-10. Plans are also underway for a location in Katy that's slated to open later this year.

Frost Bank and Fajitas Pete's have also signed on to the development. In addition, Braun still has room for at least one additional restaurant, leasing director Zach Wolf tells CultureMap. Construction on the project will begin later this year; Braun expects to deliver the space in early 2020 to its tenants, who will then need some time to finish the spaces to their specifications. Look for a summer opening.

Josh Jacobs and Jamie Weaver of EDGE Realty Partners represented Mia's. Scott Gardner of Streetwise Retail Advisors represented Frost Bank, and Campbell Anderson of ORR Commercial represented Fajitas Pete's.
