Braun Acquisitions Continue with Purchase in Timbergrove

THE LEADER NEWS

Braun Enterprises continues to acquire property in the Leader area. A November acquisition for the full-service real estate company is the strip center at 1900 West 18th Street in the Timbergrove/Lazybrook area. Zach Wolf of Braun Enterprises says the area is appealing for a number of reasons.

“[It] is a very underserved retail area,” said Wolf. “The demographics are changing and W. 18th Street is a high traffic area with people heading towards 610/290.”

The center may be familiar to readers as the home of Kojak’s Café. Wolf says that the popular restaurant is staying and could be adding dinner. There is no other new tenant news to report at the present time. The space is almost 20,000 square feet, made up of 12 rental spaces. Renderings show the new name for the center as Grove Heights.

“Hopefully we will have some fun new concepts going in,” says Wolf who notes that they are talking with salons, juice bars and other restaurants.

A planned renovation of the center will hopefully conclude by summer.

Braun is also buying the nearby Pizza Hut at 1805 West 18th in 2017.

“We are talking to several local restaurant concepts about taking over the space,” said Wolf. “We want to do something cool and local here to help out the neighborhood. Hughie’s does really well across the street. We want to help add local concepts to the area.”
